Our Story

Welcome to Mountaineer Paddle LLC

We started Mountaineer Paddle LLC because we believe one of the best ways to enjoy God's creation is from the water. After years of paddling and adventuring through the mountains and waterways of West Virginia, we launched this business to share that experience with others — and to make it easy, affordable, and safe for anyone to get on the water.

Whether you want a peaceful sunset float on a paddle board, a fun afternoon in a kayak with friends, or your very first lesson on how to stand and paddle, we are here to make it happen. We provide top-quality gear, hands-on guidance, and a safety-first approach so you can focus on what matters — enjoying the water.

Our founder, Carter, is a licensed West Virginia Guider and Outfitter with CPR and First Aid certification, and he brings both local outdoor knowledge and a genuine passion for helping people feel comfortable on the water. Every rental is personal. Every experience is guided. And every trip is built around your confidence and enjoyment.

We are proud to serve the communities of Kanawha and Putnam Counties, with our preferred launch location at the Winfield Boat Launch Area.
